We've been expecting the latest Android Pie update for current Samsung flagships like the Galaxy S9 and Note 9 for some time now, but Samsung's running behind schedule in the United States. Thankfully, it appears that One UI has finally started rolling out for some lucky S9 owners.

On January 29, Reddit users confirmed the update was available for the Galaxy S9 on Xfinity Mobile, Comcast's MVNO. This was followed by news that the update was hitting Verizon-branded Galaxy S9s on January 30. On February 1, AT&T and Sprint finally joined the party, leaving T-Mobile as the only major carrier that has yet to issue the update.

As for the unlocked model (SM-G960U1), we've got some bad news. While this device was first to get the One UI beta, it will be last to get the stable version. As Samsung has explained in the past, the update needs to be approved by all major US carriers before they'll push it to the carrier-unlocked variant. This is done to ensure that the phone can work properly regardless of which SIM card you're using, but it means you'll have to wait for T-Mobile to push the update before you'll get it.

To see if One UI has rolled out for your phone, open your Settings app and select "Software update." From there, tap "Check for updates," and if it's available, simply tap "Download and Install" to manually retrieve the OTA. Due to the nature of staged rollouts, be sure to check back frequently if it didn't pop up the first time.

There's plenty to be excited about with this new update. Samsung has revamped the look of its software, added an all-new night theme, and much more. To see all the notable features, check out our collection of One UI articles at the link below.
