Google's Pixel 12 lineup is still a long way from launch, but an early leak may have revealed the first concrete clues about the screens coming to all four expected models. The reported specifications show only small resolution changes for Google's three conventional phones, while the next Pixel Fold could be in line for a considerably larger jump.
The leak, attributed to OVRPlus and reportedly based on GSMA IMEI database records, points to four unannounced Google devices. 9to5Google reported the listings on Oct. 5, identifying them as the expected Pixel 12 (GC0QU), Pixel 12 Pro (GWU59), Pixel 12 Pro XL (G7U1Y), and Pixel 12 Pro Fold (G4D5D).
Google has not confirmed those names, model numbers, or display specifications, and details this early in development can change before release. There is another reason for caution: OVRPlus is a relatively new source without a settled track record for unreleased Pixel hardware. iDevice's source tracker currently lists this as its only tracked report, with the claim still unresolved because the Pixel 12 series has not launched.
The listings cover the displays on the three conventional Pixel models and the Pixel 12 Pro Fold's inner screen. No cover-screen resolution has surfaced for the Fold.
Pixel 12 display resolutions compared
The leaked lineup breaks down as follows:

Across the three conventional phones, the pattern is remarkably consistent. Horizontal resolution stays the same, while the vertical pixel count drops slightly: 24 pixels on the Pixel 12, 32 on the Pro, and 40 on the Pro XL.
Those differences are far too small to call a display downgrade on their own. Resolution is only one part of screen quality, and physical display dimensions for the Pixel 12 models haven't leaked. Without those measurements, the numbers don't tell us their pixel density or whether any difference in sharpness would be visible.
The slightly shorter resolutions could instead reflect changes to panel size, shape, bezels, or aspect ratio. Brightness, refresh rate, LTPO support, panel efficiency, and other display characteristics also remain unknown, and those specifications are likely to have a much greater effect on daily use than a few dozen pixels along one edge.
That makes the three regular Pixel 12 models less interesting from this leak alone. The Fold is where the numbers begin to point to a more substantial change.
The Pixel 12 Pro Fold gets the biggest display change
The reported Pixel 12 Pro Fold inner display rises to 2296 × 2404, up from 2076 × 2152 on the current Pixel 11 Pro Fold. That works out to roughly a 24% increase in total pixel count.
Google's own specifications confirm that the Pixel 11 Pro Fold has an 8-inch, 2076 × 2152 OLED inner display, giving the leaked figure a firm current-generation baseline for comparison.
More pixels do not automatically guarantee a visibly sharper screen, however. Pixel density depends on how those pixels are spread across the physical panel. If Google also increases the inner display's size, for example, some of the additional resolution could simply accommodate that larger surface.
The leaked dimensions nevertheless suggest that Google may keep the Fold's familiar near-square inner-display proportions instead of moving dramatically toward a wider layout. The aspect ratio implied by the new resolution remains close to that of the Pixel 11 Pro Fold.
That would make this more of a refinement than a complete rethink of Google's foldable design. The actual dimensions are still unknown, though, and a resolution listing alone can't establish the Fold's final shape, bezel size, or hinge design.
The cover display is another major unknown. Its resolution hasn't appeared in the leak, so the available numbers tell us only part of the display story.
All four listings also reportedly reference Android 18, another sign that these are devices intended for Google's 2027 generation rather than phones approaching an imminent release. Google hasn't announced the Pixel 12 family or confirmed its launch timing.
Google is reportedly testing a less-visible crease
The resolution leak is not the only early indication that Google may be revisiting the display hardware in its next Fold.
Separate supply-chain reporting says Google is working with Samsung Display on a dual-UTG design, using ultra-thin glass on both sides of the flexible OLED panel. A September report on the display technology said the additional glass layer would support the OLED from underneath in an effort to reduce deformation around the fold.
The goal is straightforward: make the crease running through the center of the flexible screen less visible.
That work remains separate from the GSMA resolution leak, and neither Google nor Samsung Display has confirmed that the technology will appear in a shipping Pixel 12 Pro Fold. A prototype panel being evaluated for Google's specifications does not guarantee that the same construction will reach production.
Still, the two reports point in the same general direction. While the conventional Pixel 12 models appear to be making relatively minor changes in resolution, Google's next Fold is reportedly being evaluated with both a higher-resolution inner display and a different approach to the foldable panel itself.
If both developments survive the transition to final hardware, the Fold could see the most noticeable screen changes in the Pixel 12 family.
The Fold is the Pixel 12 model to watch
For owners of the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL, there isn't much reason to read into the smaller vertical pixel counts yet. A difference of a few dozen pixels says little about how good the finished displays will look, especially without screen dimensions, brightness figures, refresh-rate details, or panel specifications.
The Pixel 12 Pro Fold is more intriguing. A roughly 24% increase in total inner-screen pixels is large enough to stand out, and Google's reported work on a less-visible crease suggests the company may be focusing more attention on improving the Fold's flexible display.
Neither development is confirmed, and plenty of important details are still missing. We don't yet know the Pixel 12 Pro Fold's screen size, cover-display specifications, pixel density, brightness, or whether the dual-UTG design will make it into the retail device.
But this first batch of Pixel 12 display information already draws a clear distinction within the lineup. The regular Pixel 12 phones may be heading for subtle changes rather than headline-grabbing resolution upgrades. If the early leaks prove accurate, Google's next Fold is where the more meaningful display work could be happening.
