The Galaxy X, Samsung's long-awaited foldable smartphone, may be revealed a lot sooner than we thought.
Twitter user mmddj_china, a well-known Chinese tech-leaker, tweeted some obscure messages today surrounding Samsung's future products that said we can expect to see the Samsung Galaxy Note8 in Q4 of this year, and, surprisingly, the Samsung Galaxy X in Q3.
Earlier this year, mmddj_china tweeted that the Galaxy X would be coming between Q3 and Q4 of 2017. Obviously, the difference now is that mmdj_china dropped the Q4 speculation from the X and moved it on to the Note8.
It isn't clear what mmddj_china means by these statements—are they alleging release dates, or product announcements? If the Galaxy X is to be released in the third quarter of this year, that's news to us, as previous rumors suggested Samsung would produce prototypes of the ambitious project around that time.
Of course, these are unconfirmed rumors and speculation. But the thought of seeing Samsung's foldable Galaxy phone in as soon as a few months is something to get excited about.
