Motorola Just Launched a Google Glass Killer... And Nobody Noticed!

How, you ask? They did it without requiring a goofy-looking face-computer. I know what you're thinking, "Without headgear, how is it a Glass killer?" It's because it does what Glass was meant to do: keep you connected while on-the-go, without constantly staring at your phone.

With the launch of the new Moto X, the Moto 360, and the Moto Hint, Motorola has crafted a set of gadgets that, when combined, are cheaper and more useful that the still-expensive Google Glass Explorers. These three gadgets work with Moto Voice—an enhanced Google Now-type service with custom voice prompts—to bring you a connected system that's far more practical than $1,500 glasses.

Yes, you can finally ditch "Okay, Google" for anything that comes more naturally: "Hey, phone", "Hi, internet", or go super brand-loyal with "Okay, Moto"...

Now, that may have been a bit cheesy, but it gets the point across. You can get directions, measurements, make Facebook status updates, and a whole lot more. Oh, and don't forget about that other function...what was it? That's right: phone calls!

Slap a Moto 360 on your wrist, and now you really never have to take your phone out. Need visual directions instead of voice prompts? Just glance at your wrist.

We're still waiting to see just what level of integration these devices will have with each other, but it isn't hard to imagine saying "Hey, phone, what's the weather like?" and be given verbal forecasts through the Moto Hint while seeing a visual representation on the Moto 360. All the while, your phone has become an information-distribution hub, rather than the center for all that information.

Whether you've tried Google Glass or not, you've probably heard stories about it or seen people wearing it. What option would you prefer: Phone + Glass, or Phone + Watch + Headset? Share your opinion in the comments below, or leave us a message on Facebook or Twitter.
