How To: Choose the correct size for your snowboard

Choose the correct size for your snowboard

In this video, Sierra Snowboard gives us some tips on how to select the snowboard that's right for you. Each board comes in a number of different sizes, and most boards come with a size chart specific for that board. These charts can be vague, but are good starting points for selecting your size. One thing to consider is your bossy type. The weight of the rider is the primary factor in selecting the size of a snowboard. You'll notice that the height of a rider is not listed on a size chart. In the physics of snowboarding, the input a rider gives to the board is related to the weight of the rider to generate a turn and create pop. Your body type and your build will also have an effect on what size of board you should ride. If you're tall for your weight, you'll want to lean towards to larger size. If you're short for your weight, you may want to lean towards the shorter side. This video also explains how your boot size can help determine what size board you should have. Also, the video explains how your riding style is also a factor to consider when selecting the size of your snowboard. If you really like speed, you will find that you'll like the stability of a longer board. If you're a new rider, you'll find that a shorter board makes it easier to turn. Freestyle riders tend to prefer shorter boards because it makes it easier to flex and to maneuver. Meanwhile, many free riders prefer a longer board because it helps lock into a carve. Specific board types will also effect on the size of board you're going to ride. The size charts and this video will help you with this.
